The ruling New Patriotic Party has described the late Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila as a unifier, a true democrat and a caring father and grandfather.
In a statement to commiserate with the bereaved family and the NDC, the NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba prayed for the comfort of the family and the opposition party in this difficult moment.
“On behalf of the New Patriotic Party, I write to sincerely express my deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and the NDC party, Northern Region, following the untimely demise of the Northern Regional Chairman – Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila, who, until his death was also the Chief of Tugu Yapala.”
Chairman Samba said, “We are saddened by the passing on of Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila, which comes not only a tragic loss to the NDC, but also to the NPP and the country at large considering his instrumental role in forging close collaborative working relationship between political parties in Ghana.”
He added the deceased endured political tolerance during his days in politics and a peaceful coexistence among members of different political parties in the region, reiterating the reason we must collectively mourn him with sorrowful hearts.
The deceased according to the family died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Tuesday afternoon, August 16, 2022.
He died at 90.
Alhaji Mobila was also the Chief Tugu yapala, a farming community in the Tamale metropolis.
Meanwhile, he was accordingly buried on Tuesday in line with the Islamic tradition and customs of Dagbon as a traditional leader.
