A total of forty-seven aspirants have successfully filed their nominations to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 National Officers Elections.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 29, the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) announced that the filing process officially closed at 6:00 p.m., with the 47 aspirants set to proceed to the vetting stage.
The figure represents a reduction from the 50 individuals who initially purchased nomination forms to contest the various national positions, as three aspirants failed to complete the filing process.
Former Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who had intended to contest the National Chairperson position, formally withdrew his candidature.
Evans Kodom also withdrew from the race for National Communications Director, leaving Dennis Miracles Aboagye as the sole aspirant for the position, subject to successfully completing the vetting process and meeting all applicable requirements.
Meanwhile, Perpetual Ekua Lomokie Akwada, who purchased a nomination form to contest the National Women Organiser position, failed to submit her completed forms before the deadline and will therefore not proceed to the vetting stage.
Vetting of the 47 aspirants is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 31, and end on Thursday, September 3.
Aspirants seeking the positions of National Chairperson, General Secretary and National Treasurer will be vetted on Monday, while candidates for National Vice Chairperson will appear before the committee on Tuesday.
The vetting of aspirants for National Organiser and National Youth Organiser will take place on Wednesday. Those contesting the positions of National Communications Director, National Nasara Organiser and National Women Organiser will be vetted on Thursday.
The NOEC said individual aspirants would be contacted with details regarding their specific vetting times, venues and other requirements.
