A youth group of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, in the North East Gonja district in the Savannah region has called for peace, unity and stability in the area as President Nana Akufo-Addo gears up to announce names of newly appointed Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives across the country.

There is heightening tension and agitations within the ranks of the NPP particularly among the youth wings in the north pending the appointment of the MMDCEs.

In this regard, the Salaga North Constituency Youth Wing in a statement issued over the weekend and copied to THE CUSTODIAN, urged members who would be aggrieved to use the right structures and the constitution of the party to seek redress but not perpetuate mayhem.

The Communications Officer of the group, Damankung A. Hardi stated nobody’s political ambition is worthy of bloodshed by any constituent.

“The North East Gonja District is one of the youngest District created in the last two years by his Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo and therefore needs committed, developmental oriented and a grassroot person to represent him in the District”

“The Youth Wing want to call on all persons vying for the DCE position in the North East Gonja District to embrace peace and work  together as brothers with a common goal and aspirations to strengthen the policies and programs of the government in the area if any of them is appointed by the appointing authority” the group indicated.

The Communication Officer further called on the traditional authorities in the district to ensure the maintenance of the existing peaceful atmosphere in the area.

“The Wing is urging the Kpansheguwura, Jantongwura, Kakpandewura, and Kanyaŋasheiwura and all opinion leaders to always continue to admonish their people to embrace peace and tranquility in their various traditional areas.

The peace, unity, stability, progress and the development of the youth in our dear infant District is more important than anything else” he emphasized.
