Former Arsenal and England striker, Ian Wright has shared recently that the English people are finding it hard to handle the energy of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
The English Premier League legend believes the Jude Bellingham’s success and inaccessibility by some people is a big factor as they is nothing to put on the young “Black Star”.
Ian Wright was speaking on a show ‘Stick To Football’ with Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney, Jemy Carragher, and Roy Keane about a reportage that Jude Bellingham was ‘unhappy’ despite England qualifying for the World Cup.
Ian Wright is quoted to have said “… They hate that they can’t get to him. They hate that they can’t influence his club career like they’ve with so many players before him ….”. Gary Neville then asked Ian, ” When you said they hate that they can’t get to him. what do you mean”?
Ian responded: “They can’t get to him through like I said in there, through his club Real Madrid so they can try and taint the way Real Madrid is thinking like ‘We gon keep him in like and that’. They can not get to this guy and this is somebody who is an achiever”
“… what they said about Jude not celebrating is a complete fabrication and lie. England qualified and it was perfect so they need something to pile on top of the narrative…. And I’m worried for Jude because he is somebody they can’t control.
“He’s shined in the World Cup. He’s showing people that I am here. I am black and proud and I am ready to go. All that vibe is something that many can’t deal with”, Ian Wright added.
Gary Neville recounted when in 2016 Rahim Sterling confided in him about being ‘crucified’ for things unrelated to football.
Ian took a hard stance and mentioned: “You know something, I remember saying that, I don’t think they’re ready for a black superstar like that who can move like Jude’s moving. They can’t touch him: He goes out he performs, he does what he does, he says who else, its too uppety”
“So let me put it in football terms. Everyone loves N’Golo Kante, he’s a humble black man, gets on with what he’s doing. I am not saying he is an Uncle Tom or anything. Just saying that is how he’s personality is. But if you get a Pogba or a Bellingham, and you get that kind of energy, that does not sit well with that kind of person”.
“So for someone like Jude, for some reason, frightens these people because of the capability and the inspiration he can give. It is something you are told as a black man when you go out, you just do the best you can and keep your head down. And be for what, a bit of a humble slave. This is dragging from that kind of energy”.
