The Minority leader of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has described the 2021 Population and Housing Census as a worthy exercise and a very significant intervention for data collection and therefore urged Ghanaians to get counted as the program progress across the country.
He said the exercise would provide the country a comprehensive statistical data for purposes of projections and comparisons and an integrated picture of the society based on an assessment of the multiple numerical and changes that has taken place in the population.
Mr. Iddrisu noted more importantly, the population and housing census also provides some social and economic data that would be relevant to national development planning effort.

“It will give us some detailed information even including how many expatriates are in our country, how many are citizens of Ghana, the sex distribution and the partial distribution of the population” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. George Agbenyo, Director of the Ghana Statistical Service in the Northern Region said the participation of the Minority leader and other leading public figures means they have recognize the importance of the exercise and thereby urged the citizenry to follow suit and avail themselves for the data collection.
