President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has expressed profound gratitude to persons at the forefront of the COVID-19 national response programme.

Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, conveyed the President’s appreciation at a meet the press series on the Coronavirus pandemic.

These national heroes, the President said, are the men and women who on a daily basis put their personal lives on the line to give effect to the national effort.

“H.E. the President wants us to convey his appreciation to the frontline health workers who receive patients daily at health facilities nationwide. Who do not even know the status of the next patient coming their way but who step up to the call each day to serve.”

“Especially those who are managing our 204 cases and those who have helped us to contact trace and take samples from about 6,000 people in the primary circle as at this morning, the President of the Republic and people of Ghana are indebted to you,” Minister for Information Oppong-Nkrumah reiterated.

The President also expressed gratitude to members of the security services supporting to enforce the restrictions with their presence.

He said, “The frontline security persons who day and night also put themselves up to enforce the restrictions that have been imposed, especially the ones who also take the opportunity to help us educate the public. Your service, especially your firm, courteous service is appreciated.”

“The President and the people of Ghana thank you for the services.”


President Akufo-Addo also acknowledged and appreciated the media and the contributions that journalists are making to ensure the Ghanaian stay safe to beat the Coronavirus pandemic.

“To our colleagues in the media who from the very beginning have been instrumental in social mobilization and getting the millions of Ghanaians aware of the COVID-19 and how to prevent it, the President and the people of Ghana are grateful to you”, Mr Oppong-Nkrumah said of the President’s gratefulness.
