The Chief of Kperigu, Ubor Kunji Tamanga

Chief of Kperigu in the Saboba District of the Northern Region has appealed to government to complete the Kperigu Primary School. According to Ubor Kunji Tamanga, successive governments have failed to complete the project to allow students to use it.

He accused the Saboba district assembly of gambling with the school structure, adding that “They go round spewing falsehood that the work is progressing when nothing is happening.

Ubor Kunji Tamanga said the Kperigu Primary School is in deplorable state forcing some of the pupils to carry stools from home to the school whilst others sit on the bare floor to learn.

“The old primary block has developed cracks on the wall, destroyed doors and windows” he lamented.

He said the local education authorities have failed woefully resulting in the poor performance of students in the area.

The Chief told Journalists the true state of the school was brought to light when some philanthropist came to donate furniture to the school.

“The leadership of the Saboba District Assembly lied to donors that the abandoned school project has been completed. This came to light when furniture was brought to the school for students to use, surprisingly, the school is at the foundation level and yet to be raised”

Meanwhile, the Kperigu Chief has appealed President Nana Akufo-Addo to appoint Mr. Thomas Moanang Togarvi to become next Chief Executive officer Saboba.

The Chief believes Thomas Moanang Togarvi is capable of championing the good policies of government to mitigate the numerous challenges undermining growth in the district.

He stated the latter has proven himself to be good leader as an assemble member, adding that, “though other’s have showed interest in the DCE position, but the roles Hon. Thomas Moanang Togarvi has played as an assemblyman in the area in dispute resolution, land issues and several others proves that when nominated, he will coordinate and champion the decisions and policies of government very well in the district”.
