The Deputy National Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Safia Mohammed, has charged the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) Ladies Club to not despair but continue to work hard to rekindle the spirit of the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
She noted, “The values you uphold, the hard work, discipline, sacrifices, and service you render to the party, are not in vain. Rest assured that one day, the spirit of the party will locate you and reward you.”
Speaking at the launch of the TESCON Ladies Club and Leadership Seminar at the Valley View University chapter over the weekend as the Special Guest Honour, Safia Mohammed inspired the young women never to underestimate their potentials.
He indicated politics is not too rough for women, nor is leadership too heavy a burden for them to carry, emphasizing that their voices, contribution and participation in the country’s democratic process are essential.
“…Take advantage of this platform, learn, mentor one another, and rise to leadership with confidence. I also wish to commend Valley View University TESCON for rekindling the TESCON spirit here at Oyibi. The future belongs to those who are prepared, and you are taking the right steps to prepare yourselves for impactful leadership” she stated.
Highlighting on the theme for the launch: “Unite, Uplift, Lead: Rekindle the TESCON Spirit for Impact and Inclusion”, the NPP Deputy National Women’s Organizer who is aspiring to lead the women wing of the largest opposition said the theme speaks to the very essence of leadership, empowerment, and collective action.
“TESCON, as we know, is the intellectual and activist wing of our great party, the New Patriotic Party. It has been the breeding ground of thinkers, strategists, mobilizers, and future leaders. Many of the men and women steering the affairs of our nation today including me once sat where you are sitting now, as proud TESCON members.
“Your role, therefore, is not just important but indispensable in shaping the future of our great party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in particular and Ghana as a whole” she stated.
Hajia Safia further underscored the place of women in leadership stressing Women have always been at the forefront of transformation and the decision-making process, whether in the communities, families, or at the national level.
“By establishing the TESCON Ladies Club, we affirm that leadership is not reserved for men alone. Today, we recommit ourselves to empowering young women to rise, take their rightful place, and contribute meaningfully to political discourse and national development” maintained.
