The Member of Parliament for Savelugu constituency, Hon. Fatahiya Abdul Aziz has called on the newly elected Northern Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure they rebuild the party’s structures at the grassroot level.
”Let us unite, rebuild our grassroots structures and work together to make the NPP stronger and more competitive as we prepare to return to power in 2028″ she said.
Hajia Fatahiya in a Facebook post to congratulate the newly elected Northern Regional Executives admonished the candidates who were unsuccessful in the contest not to be discouraged by their defeat.
”I congratulate all the newly elected Northern Regional Executives on their victories and commend every aspirant across the country who offered themselves to serve our great party” she wrote.
According to her, contesting alone demonstrates courage, commitment and a willingness to sacrifice for the NPP.
She therefore maintained there are no losers when the ultimate goal is to strengthen the party.
The Savelugu lawmaker also implored the elected executives to magnanimous in their victory.
”To the winners, I urge you to be magnanimous in victory and reach out to your former contenders. The elections are over; the real work begins now” she emphasized.
Meanwhile, the incumbent NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Bantima Samba secured landslide victory for a third consecutive term.
He polled a total of two hundred and fifteen (215) votes while his closest contender Alhaji Inusah Amadu (Dagomba boy) secured one hundred and twenty-two (122) votes.
The other candidates in the race, Fuseini Musah had forty-four (44) votes and Salifu A. Rahman Mumin (COP) managed with five (5) votes.
His reelection is historic as it is first time someone has maintained the position for this number of times in the NPP.
