MBA students matriculated at SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies

The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) in Wa has held a matriculation ceremony for its newly admitted MBA weekend students.

A total of 195 students have been offered admission to pursue various MBA Programmes.

The Programmes include Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Strategy, MBA Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Health Services Management and Administration, Management Information Systems Public Administration.

The MBA Programmes, according to Professor Philip Duku Osei, the Interim Vice Chancellor of the University were in partial fulfilment of the University’s mandate to run applied research and practical-oriented programmes in business and integrated development studies and related disciplines.

He observed that there was an increasing demand for MBA Programmes by professionals and industry players who barely had time for regular programmes given their work schedules.

In that regard, he said the University found it imperative to roll out the Weekend MBA Programmes to cater for the educational needs of working professionals.

Prof Osei appealed to the Government, GetFund and other stakeholders to help the University address its Infrastructure challenges.

“As a new University, we are confronted with an array of infrastructural challenges including the lack of adequate lecture rooms”, but expressed confidence that more will be achieved despite the challenges.

He said management was considering a proposal to rehabilitate the 36-Unit Block at the Old Campus to house the School of Business and provide an enabling and comfortable learning environment for the students.

He advised the fresh students to eschew all forms of conduct that would cast a slur on the image of the University.

“As pioneers of the programme, we expect you to be worthy ambassadors of the University”.
