The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly (TaMA) will commence two-week medical outreach from today Friday 15th October, to 1st November, 2021, in the northern regional capital, Tamale, to conduct free eye screening for the residents.

The exercise will take place daily from 8:00am to 4:00pm at the forecourt of the Tamale Metro Assembly and at the premise of the clinic located at the Dungu campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS).

The Personal Assistant of the Tamale Mayor, Mr Amadu Hamdawey who confirmed this to THE CUSTODIAN, said the medical exercise is in line with the vision of the Tamale Chief Executive to improve the health status of the people.

During the period, he disclosed some 200 individuals who would be diagnosed of cataract are expected to undergo free surgery.

“The exercise is by the kind courtesy of the Mayor, Hon Sule Salifu, to help promote a healthy workforce in the metropolis and beyond.

This is good news for persons who have challenges with their eyesight and therefore the general public is hereby encouraged to take full advantage of this important exercise to get treatment” he said.
