Tiyumba Hope Foundation making donation to one of the orphanages in Tamale

Tiyumba Hope Foundation, a charitable nongovernmental organization with focus on education, healthcare and economic empowerment of widows, orphans and vulnerable groups has donated food items to the vulnerable for this year’s Eid-ul Adha celebration.

The items included packaged cooked food, verna mineral bottle water, assorted drinks and biscuits to the Nyohani Children’s orphanage and the Kpawumo Children’s home in the Sagnarigu municipality.

The foundation also gave fresh meat and other items to some poor widows at Datoyili and Kambong-nayili under Tamale metropolis.

It further distributed some of the food items to beggars on the major streets of Tamale to commemorate the Islamic festivities.

Executive Director of the foundation Madam Fadila Fuseini highlighted the activities of the organization which include free health screening, education and reaching out deprived and less privileged communities.

She said the donation was one of their outreach programmes to support the vulnerable groups in the region, especially as Muslims across the globe celebrated the Eid-ul Adha festival.

Madam Fadila added that the gesture is christened, “Dinning with Orphans” and explained this is an annual activity of the foundation to put smiles on the faces of orphans, widows and other vulnerable groups in the society.

The Tiyumba Hope Foundation Executive Director told THE CUSTODIAN that the little support is their widows might for these less privileged groups to also enjoy the celebration.

She said this is something the foundation does annually but bemoaned that inadequate resources always impede their ability to cover more people.

This notwithstanding, Madam Fadila commended producers of the Verna mineral water who supported with several bottles of water to augment the items distributed to people.
