Police in Tamale have arrested a nurse working at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) for disobeying the Imposition of Restrictions Act, 2020 (Act 1012) enforced by government.

The healthcare worker according to the Regional Crime Officer, Supt Kwabena Otuo Acheampong was picked up for organizing a ceremony to outdoor a week old baby against the social distancing directive at Kukuo.

He is Muniru Mohammed, age 30.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his last address to the nation extended the ban on social gathering to the end of May.

The Regional Crime Officer, Supt Kwabena Otuo Acheampong who confirmed the arrest to thecustodianghonline.com said the suspect was charged and released on police enquiry bail.

However, Mr. Acheampong added he will be arraigned in Tamale Circuit on Thursday, 14 May, 2020 for prosecution.
