Management of the University of Ghana (UG) has triggered internal processes following the media confrontation involving Prof. Gyampo, Ransford and Dr. Domfe, George who are senior members of the university.
UG’s notice comes less than 24-hours after Prof. Gyampo and Dr Domfe publicly shared apologies on their social media handles.
The university said, in a statement released Friday morning [Nov 21, 2025], it had invoked the University of Ghana Statutes (2024) and the Code of Conduct for Academic Senior Members (2011) to review the conduct of both academics.
UG said it had noted the widely circulated video which captured Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr. George Domfeh, both Senior Members of the University, in a confrontation during a media engagement on The Key Points, a current affairs programme on TV3, on Saturday, 15th November 2025. The video shows a panel discussion that degenerated into a personal and heated exchange between the two.
It said the university management has, in accordance with the University of Ghana Statutes (2024) and the Code of Conduct for Academic Senior Members (2011), triggered internal processes to review the conduct of the two Senior Members and take necessary disciplinary actions.
“The University demands high standards of professionalism, integrity, and decorum from all faculty and staff, and expects all members of the University community to uphold these values in both public and private engagements.”
“Management remains committed to safeguarding the dignity of the University and preserving public confidence in the institution,” it added.
