Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has charged members of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, to work assiduously for the party to win the 2024 general elections to honor the memory of the late Northern Regional Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila.

According to Mr. Mahama, the deceased had pledged to ensure he (John Mahama) was reelected as President of Ghana, something he noted is regrettable that did not happen before his sudden demise.

The 2020 NDC Presidential Candidate stated the late Chairman Mobila was friends’ with his late father, E.A Mahama and business partners as well.

“And so when he became the Chairman, he called me his son and that since my father had died he has taken over the role of my father. One thing I regret that it didn’t happen before he passed, is that, he told me – he said President, I’m not going to die now, I want when I die to go to heaven and tell your father, my friend, that your chair that was taken from you, I have collected it and put our son back on that chair; until that happens, I am not leaving this world” Mr. Mahama recounted.

Nevertheless, the former Head of State indicated it is God who gives and it is the same God who takes what belongs to him.

“…Nobody knows when his time would come and so like our General Secretary and our Chairman has said, the least honor we can pay to our Chairman Mobila is for us to win the 2024 elections and bring NDC back into office” he reiterated.
