A woman believed to be in her late 20s, identified as Olivia Viza, was discovered dead in the early hours of Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Ho main lorry station, around the main terminal and the Metro Mass Transit section.
An eyewitness at the station, GNA reports stated, the deceased was a native of Hohoe and had arrived in Ho earlier that morning aboard a commercial vehicle from Kpando.
“Her phone was used to contact her relatives, who later came to the station and confirmed her identity,” said a worker at the scene.
Personnel from the Ghana National Ambulance Service in Ho responded promptly.
The deceased was declared dead at the Ho Teaching Hospital.
Police say no visible signs of injury were found on the body, and they are not ruling out any cause of death at this stage.
Some local traders who spoke to the media expressed concern about the safety and security at the station, particularly at night.
Authorities are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the woman or assist in the investigation.

Her body has since been conveyed to the Ho Teaching Hospital morgue, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
On June 11, 2025, the Police arrested three men in connection with the suspected murder of a young woman at Vutideke, a community near Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
The police arrested the three suspects, including 31-year-old Hayford Boateng, believed to be the boyfriend of the deceased, and his two alleged accomplices, Kojo Emmanuel, 28, and Michael Kabutey, 34.
According to information, the trio was apprehended while attempting to transport the woman’s lifeless body to Yeji.
The deceased is believed to have been a student at the Yeji Midwifery Training School. The suspects were reportedly using an unregistered Hyundai private saloon car with the number DV 8388Y-2025.
A police source at the Yeji station confirmed that the arrests were made following a tip-off from residents who found the trio’s behaviour suspicious. The swift intervention by local authorities led to the interception of the vehicle and the discovery of the body.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The body has since been deposited at the mortuary for preservation and an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police say all three suspects are in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm while assuring them that justice will be pursued.
