The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abukari II, has commended organizers of Dasuma Radio Inter-Clan football matches for a successful 3rd season tournament. The Chief Executive Officer of Dasuma Radio, Alhaji Baba Daney led the organizing committee to present the 2022 winners to the Dagbon King at the Gbewa palace.

His Majesty Ya Naa Abukari in his remarks applauded the station for coming out with initiative to promote peace coexistence among the people especially the youth.

The Ya Naa said the gala matches have had tremendous impact in consolidating the prevailing peace in the Dagbon traditional.

He noted that the youth has a major responsibility on their shoulders to maintain the existing peace and unity in the area, emphasizing peace is the bedrock for the development of every society.

Meanwhile, the Moshies were crown champions for the second consecutive time having won the trophy in the previous edition.

The final match which ended goalless after 90minutes between the Lungsis (Drummers) and the Moshies, went into penalty shoot-outs and the Moshies emerged victorious.

The clans are Laabansi, Butchers, Machelle, Lungsis, Sapashinima and the Moshies. Moshies are playmates to Mole Dagombas comprising Dagombas, Nanumbas and Mamprusis.

The CEO of Dasuma Radio, Baba Daney for his part thanked all stakeholders who made the tournament successful.

He indicated that the tournament which begun in 2019 aims at leveraging on soccer to bring total unity, ever lasting peace and accelerated growth of the area as well as youth development.

The Chief Executive added there would be justified match and deserving players will be selected by scouts from abroad to pursue their football career outside the country.
