The Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa West, Hon. Joseph Yieleh Chireh has procured assorted items to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the Constituency.

The items valued at over GH¢50,000.00 has been handed over to the Wa West District Health Directorate for distribution to health facilities in the Constituency..

These include non-contact thermometers, examination gloves, theatre gowns, face masks, liquid soap, Veronica buckets and hand sanitisers.

Mr. Yieleh Chireh appealed to his constituents to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols as well as the preventive measures against the Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) that has already claimed over 30 lives in the Upper West Region.

He advised constituents to observe social distancing by avoiding crowded areas such as funerals, festivals, church activities, mosques and other public gatherings.

Mr Yieleh Chireh further advised them to strictly observe the other COVID-19 protocols including frequent washing of hands with soap under running water, avoiding handshakes and hugs and the use of hand sanitisers where soap and running water are not available.

The MP urged the government to, as a matter of urgency, deploy the resources allocated to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 and the CSM.

He charged government to ensure the rapid and equitable distribution of PPE and CSM vaccines to the region to ensure stakeholders efficiently combat the two diseases.
