The Savannah Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana affectionately called Professor Kalamonia has described as unfortunate and reckless a statement allegedly made his compatriot Savannah Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress that Ghana will be plunged into chaos like Kenya, Siera Leone and Ivory Coast should the Electoral Commission delete any voter’s name from the newly compiled register.
Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana in a short video stated that the people of Savannah region are peace loving and development oriented and will embrace a political party that is development minded.
According to him, the biggest thing to happen to the Savannah region is the creation of the region under the Akufo-Addo led NPP government. He added that the creation of the region will bring along the establishment of some regional departments and offices that will propel development.
Showing video evidence of the construction of the Catholic Bishop road, a road that leads to the personal residence of the Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency, Adam Mutawakilu, the NPP Chairman retorted that the road is just a tip of the iceberg as several of them are ongoing in the regional capital.
He also implored the NDC Regional Chairman of Savannah region to show gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo for creating the region that he ( Alhaji Imoro) has become the Chairman of his party.
The Savannah Regional Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Imoru Seidu in addressing supporters of the NDC after a health walk in Damongo is alleged to have made several disparaging comments.
Amongst them was that Ghana will be plunged into chaos and confusion should the Electoral Commission delete the name of any voter from the register.
The audio recording that has gone viral has received public condemnation from well-meaning Ghanaians.
