Zoomlion Ghana Limited has moved to calm concerns among workers engaged under the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) Fumigation Project over delayed salary payments, assuring them that all legitimate arrears will be settled as soon as funds are released.

In a press statement issued by the company’s Corporate Communications Directorate, management expressed “grave disquiet” over the workers’ worries but stressed that the company fully understands the hardship caused by the delay. It reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring every outstanding payment is made once the necessary funds are received.

Zoomlion noted that over the past 15 years it has maintained a strong record of meeting its obligations to employees and field operatives under the MMDA Fumigation Project nationwide. The current delay, the company said, is an exception rather than the norm and stems from delays in the release of funds under the project.

The company revealed that it has been in continuous dialogue with the Government of Ghana and the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to secure the outstanding payments. These engagements have been constructive, with assurances that the necessary processes are being finalised to enable disbursement.

“Management wishes to state clearly, and without reservation, that all arrears owed to our workers under the project will be settled promptly once these outstanding payments are received,” the statement declared.

Zoomlion expressed deep gratitude for the patience, understanding and dedication shown by the workers throughout the period. It recognised the hardship any delay in payment can cause and said it does not take their continued commitment for granted.

The company highlighted that the workers’ efforts have been instrumental in safeguarding public health through sustained vector control and environmental sanitation interventions across communities.

While acknowledging workers’ constitutional right to express their concerns peacefully, Zoomlion appealed to all affected staff to remain calm and continue placing confidence in the ongoing engagements aimed at resolving the matter.

The company also underscored the strong partnership it has built over the years with the Government of Ghana, the MMDAs and its workforce, noting that this collaboration has delivered significant public health gains. Management expressed confidence that the current challenge will soon be resolved through continued dialogue and cooperation.

Zoomlion reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to the welfare of its employees and to delivering quality environmental sanitation services in support of national development.
