Alhaji Inusah Amadu also known as Dagomba Boy has alleged that the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Mohammed Bantima Samba has abandoned all government of Ghana funded contracts awarded to him for construction in various parts of the north.
According to the former Yendi Constituency Chairman, the failure of Mr. Samba to execute those projects has made the Akufo-Addo led NPP government in the beneficiaries communities unpopular.
He mentioned the Nanton District Assembly complex, road project at Chamba in Bimbila, another road project at Zogbeli in Tamale as some of the abandoned contracts after the latter had allegedly received mobilization from the central government.
Alhaji Inusah Amadu, who had declared his intention to contest the incumbent Chairman Samba made the allegations during a political radio discussion on Radio Tamale 91.7MHz based in the northern regional capital, Thursday evening (9 September, 2021).
“These are projects he was supposed to execute for the people to vote for our party in the 2020 elections. He took those contracts with mobilization but abandoned them. Unlike me, I got a contract to construct a 12-unit storey classroom block at Yendi Senior High, I met the timeline given me, it is finished and the students are using it for the free SHS program. But ask Chairman Samba to tell you the single project awarded to him that he has accomplished” he said.
“The students are our children and come from various homes, probably made up of NDC and NPP – the parents might have voted for the party and the children as well” he indicated.
Failed 2020 election target
The Samba led executive administration according to Dagomba Boy failed to achieve his agenda 15 seats in northern region because he didn’t take pragmatic measures to address the party’s post parliamentary primary wrangles in Saboba, Wulensi among others.
He stated Chairman Samba didn’t have any proper plan to secure victory going into the 2020 general elections.
He emphasized the Regional Chairman woefully failed to unite aggrieved factions in the constituencies in the interest of the party, adding, the discord were signals that the party will lose those seats to the NDC.
He further accused some of the regional executives of insubordination, alleging they sabotage the 2020 Sagnarigu NPP parliamentary candidate, Madam Felicia Tetteh not to capture the seat from the NDC.
