Manchester City were forced to come from behind after going down by two goals in the game. Matthew Cash and Philipe Coutinho had given Villa the lead in the 37th minute and in the first quarter of the second half.
Rodri and Gundoğan came on from the bench to score 1 and 2 goals respectively in 5 minutes for City to defend the league.
Liverpool, who were the closest contenders also came from behind to win by 3 goals to 1 at Anfield. But that was enough to give them the title as City were leading against Villa.
Liverpool will not be able to do the quadruple after loosing the EPL to City but they have a chance to do the treble if they are able to beat Real Madrid in Paris for the Champions League.
Son will be proud to see Tottenham in the Champions league again with the contribution of his goals.
