The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reinstated the Headmaster of Ghana Senior High School in Tamale, Mr. Douglas Mahama together with the Senior Housemaster, Sayibu Fuseini.
This follows the conclusion of the work of the committee probing the allegations that the school authorities were housing students in toilet cubicles found nothing against them.
The Northern Regional Public Relations Officer of GES, Mr. Owusu Frederick, in an interview with THE CUSTODIAN confirmed the reinstatement of the duo.
He noted the committee tasked to investigate the matter has concluded its work and submitted its report to the GES Northern Regional Directorate which was also sent to the headquarters in Accra.
“The Regional Director constituted the committee and all stakeholders who are involved in this matter were invited. The committee finished their report then submitted to the regional director which was subsequently submitted to GES headquarters in Accra for them to also review the report” he narrated.
He indicated the committee’s recommendations was adopted in addition to firsthand information obtained by the Deputy Director General when he paid a working visit to the school.
Mr. Owusu said management therefore took the decision to reinstate the headmaster and the senior housemaster based on the recommendations of the committee.
“Per the report that was presented to headquarters, they also reviewed it and came to the conclusion that they have to reinstate the headmaster and the senior housemaster. The terms of reference for the committee was to find out whether the allegations against the headmaster was true or otherwise and based on their reinstatement, we can confidently say that nothing has been found against them” he emphasized.
