Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has arrived in Ghana on a two-day working visit.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who welcomed him at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) today 1st May, 2023 announced that the Japanese Prime Minister will be holding bilateral talks with the President of Ghana.

“I welcomed the Japanese Prime Minister H.E. Fumio Kishida to Ghana this afternoon to begin a 2-day state visit.
“Prime Minister Kishida will hold bilateral talks with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”, Vice President Bawumia posted on his Facebook page.

Ghana and Japan has had long time relationship with the latter contributing immensely to the growth of various sectors of the Ghanaian economy such as education and construction of roads in the country.

It would be recalled that under the Kufuor-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, Japan provided grants for the construction of Mallam-Cape Coast road.
