The Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency, Moses Anim, has urged traditional leaders to utilize their authority for positive change and community development.

Speaking at the installation ceremony of Alhaji Ibrahim Kanton as the Sissala Chief of the Ga North Municipality, the MP lauded the newly enskinned Chief and expressed confidence in his ability to excel as a leader within the Sissala Community.

According to the MP, Alhaji Kanton is renowned for his honesty, integrity, and straightforwardness, unafraid to confront reality and speak the truth, even if it may not be flattering.

“He will never shy away from telling you the truth. Any time he gets closer to me, I know he will present the unvarnished reality,” the MP noted, praising the Chief’s exceptional leadership, humility, and interpersonal skills.

Mr. Moses Anim also commended Alhaji Bukari Hamidu Kabore, the President of the Ga North Council of Zongo Chiefs, for his transformative leadership abilities, hailing him as an icon for the Ga North community and offering prayers for his continued wisdom and knowledge.

In his address, Alhaji Kabore advised the new Chief not to neglect his community, reminding him that he will be held accountable by his Creator for his stewardship on the Day of Judgment.

“A chief should leave behind a lasting legacy that his people will remember even after his departure for eternity. Exploiting the poor and neglecting their needs is not the path of a true leader,” Alhaji Kabore warned.

He urged Alhaji Kanton to strive for achievements that benefit the Sissala community and the entire Ga North and refrain from merely seeking personal gain or privileges, as all actions will be judged by a higher authority.

The installation ceremony marks the beginning of Alhaji Ibrahim Kanton’s journey as the Sissala Chief, carrying the hopes and expectations of the Ga North Municipality as he assumes his revered position.
