The Office of the President has dismissed claims by Mr. Charles Owusu that some security personnel desertef Jubilee House due to alleged “unfair treatment.”
A statement issued by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications for the presidency, stated that no such mass exodus of security personnel has occurred, and the claims were labeled as false.
Speaking at Peace FM on Friday, September 1, 2023, Mr. Owusu had asserted that nearly seventy-seven security personnel at Jubilee House had abandoned their duty posts due to perceived “unfair treatment.”
He was quoted as saying, “Go to Jubilee House and see, the Police, Soldiers, and everyone is complaining. It got to a point where almost seventy-seven security personnel decided to leave Jubilee House and go back to their units… What type of treatment are you giving them?”
The statement from the Office of the President refuted these allegations, stressing that no security officers had left Jubilee House because of unfair treatment during President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s tenure, which spanned from 2017 to the present date.
Mr. Eugene Arhin emphasized that Mr. Owusu did not provide any evidence to substantiate the claims made during his interview and clarified that any security personnel who may have left Jubilee House did so either as a result of disciplinary actions or of their own voluntary decisions.
The Director of Communications urged the public to disregard these false claims and treat them with the contempt they deserve.
