The majority leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Mr. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has send a heartwarming message to farmers as the country celebrates their contributions to National development.

In a brief statement, the leader of government business, acknowledged the enormous contribution of farmers to the GDP, also the continuous supply of food to various homes on daily basis.

He assured farmers to believe in the NPP government, as steps are being taken to make the lives of farmers better than before.

The 39th National Farmers Day celebration is being held at Tarkwa, Western Region. under the Theme: ‘Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience”.

This is appropriate and relevant to achieving food security in Ghana within the context of an increase in population growth and its accompanying food system issues.

“I would add my voice to that of the President, the Vice President, the New Patriotic Party and the many well-wishers from around the country to express our sincerest appreciation to our gallant Farmers on this memorable day, ‘The Farmers’ Day’

Your immeasurable contribution to national development remains the most consistent and irreplaceable component in our national growth programmes and activities.

I therefore want to assure you that, the NPP government shall, on a continuous basis, review the policies relating to agriculture, in particular farming, with a view to better rewarding farmers and, ultimately, improving their living conditions.
