Mr. Annoh-Dompreh who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and parliamentary candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region, said it is a civic duty of every Ghanaian not to allow the former President to get anywhere near the presidency again.

“The NDC are very wild this time, we don’t have any fight with them neither do we fight with John Mahama,” he pointed out, insisting the former president has nothing more to offer Ghanaians after holding all the political positions in the country.

“You have been an MP, Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President, and President why does Ghana belong to your father? You have done your part step down,” the Majority Chief Whip told Mr. Mahama.

Former President Mahama won the 2012 general election following the death of President Atta Mills.

He however lost miserably in 2016 polls and was again defeated 2020 after subjecting Ghanaians to four years of excruciating power cuts or dumsor and superintending over rapid decline in all sectors of the economy.

Mr. Mahama has won the NDC presidential primary again to lead the main opposition party into the 2024 crucial election with a desperate attempt to recapture power.

However, addressing NPP members in Nsawam-Adoagyiri after a celebratory victory party, over the weekend, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh urged the electorate to reject the former president and maintain the country on the path progress under the governing NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He was optimistic that Nsawam/Adoagiri will lead the way for NPP’s victory in the next general election.

“We have started something, this Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency; we are aiming for victory and that victory nobody born by a woman can stop it. The hand of God is strongly on us,” he stated.

Mr. Annoh-Dompreh told the party members that the main concern of the NPP heading into the 2024 general election is to stop the NDC flagbearer from winning the polls.

He said despite his respect for former President Mahama, he would have wished for a more capable flagbearer from the NDC to face the NPP flagbearer.

According to him, the NPP can break the 8-year electoral cycle in the 2024 general election, hence the need to bring all members on board to work together and get more votes for the NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“The expectations are high and I’m determined to make history and determined to increase the vote for Dr. Bawumia and also win massively for the NPP,’’ he reiterated.

Mr. Annoh-Dompreh noted that the NPP government and his outfit have undertaken massive developmental projects in the constituency which are visible for everyone to see.

This, he believes, the constituents will consider and vote massively for the NPP.

Commending the constituents for their unwavering support for him during the NPP parliamentary primary, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh marked the day as a joyous one.

“Today marked a very happy day in my life; your support has proven to me that the good people of Nsawam love me, and I want to let you know that I love you too. The primary election is over; let all come together and rally for victory in the December 7, 2024, General Elections.”

Accordingly, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh has promised to make the Nsawam/Adoagyiri constituency a stronghold for the NPP in the upcoming and subsequent elections.
