Hohoe MP John Peter Amewu interacting with the tailors and seamstresses

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe Constituency in the Volta region, John Peter Amewu has donated over 30 sewing machines and cash to the Tailors and Seamstresses Association in Hohoe.

The MP made the donation at the graduation ceremony of over 30 men and women who are into fashion and dressmaking in Hohoe last Sunday.

According to the MP, tailors and seamstresses “form a core part of our society and are a major component” of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s “policy to empower our young people economically to become small business owners.”

The MP who was also the special guest of honour for the occasion, made a cash donation to each graduate for them to use as initial capital to start their trade.

Mr Amewu further hinted of plans to organise training programmes for the seamstresses and Tailors in the Hohoe Constituency to improve their capacity and knowledge.

Meanwhile, the MP has visited the Hohoe stadium project.

The MP visited the project site to inspect the progress of work.

The Astroturf, the 4 stands and other facilities including a basketball court, volleyball court among others are expected to be completed soon.

The project forms part of the MP’s agenda for sports development in Hohoe.
