In a significant push to improve access to clean and reliable water, the Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has commissioned five newly completed water projects across key communities in his constituency.

The projects, located in Amanfro, Oparekrom, Djankrom East, Akwane Dobro and Papito, form part of ongoing interventions by the MP to address longstanding water challenges confronting residents.

For years, many of these communities have struggled with limited access to potable water, often relying on unsafe sources or traveling long distances to meet basic household needs.

At short ceremonies held in each of the beneficiary communities on Sunday, Mr Annoh-Dompreh underscored the importance of water as a fundamental necessity for health, sanitation, and socio-economic development.

He explained that the provision of these facilities is part of a broader development agenda aimed at improving living conditions and reducing the burden on residents, particularly women and children.

He emphasised that the water from the facilities will be provided free of charge, urging residents to take collective responsibility for their maintenance to ensure sustainability.

According to him, community ownership remains critical in preserving such interventions, adding that the long-term success of the projects depends on proper care and responsible usage.

Mr Annoh-Dompreh also used the opportunity to brief residents on other development initiatives being undertaken across the constituency, noting that each community will continue to receive its fair share of projects based on its needs.

He reiterated his commitment to equitable development and assured constituents that more interventions are in the pipeline.

Traditional leaders, assembly members, and residents in all five communities expressed appreciation to the MP for responding to their water needs.

They described the projects as timely and impactful, noting that access to clean water will significantly improve hygiene, reduce disease, and enhance overall quality of life.
