Daboya: Two suspects in police custody for allegedly lynching a young man

‎The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged lynching of a young man identified as Yibonwura to death at Daboya in the North Gonja district of the Savannah Region.

‎Preminary investigations conducted by the police indicate that the victim was allegedly attacked and severely assaulted after he was accused of stealing sheanuts.
‎
‎The victim subsequently died from the injuries sustained during the assault. The assault was captured in a video circulating on social media.
‎
‎Consequently, the suspects, Adjei Abdulai, 25, a carpenter and Issah Mahama, 22, a student were arrested following investigations into the incident.
‎
‎The Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP David Kamdaro who confirmed the arrest in a statement dated Wednesday, August 26, 2026, disclosed that the two arrested suspects are currently in Police custody assisting investigations.
‎
‎He added that a manhunt is also underway to apprehend a third suspect, who is currently at large.
‎
‎Investigations are also ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that all persons connected to the crime are brought to justice.
