The Agona Nyakrom Traditional Council, on April 24, 2026, convened at the Palace of Nana Katakyi Okofo Nyarko Ebo X to officially acknowledge Ebusapenyin Kojo Dankwa as the head of the Oyoko family, heirs to the Agona Nyakrom Paramountcy.
The meeting, held in Nyakrom, followed closely on the heels of his recent outdooring, but carried a deeper sense of tradition, authority, and cultural significance. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation, reflecting a people ready to embrace new leadership.
Agona Nyakrom now has a new Ebusapenyin, one believed to be the youngest to occupy the position in recent history. This was evident in conversations among community members, both young and old, many of whom expressed surprise and admiration that a young man, Mr. Harry Joojo Duncan, would assume such a significant role.
“This our new Ebusapenyin is a young guy,” one youth remarked to his peer outside the palace after the Council meeting.
At a reception held in his honour, members of the Asafo company displayed enthusiasm and confidence in his leadership. They expressed belief that the spirit of the ancestors would guide him and use him as a vessel for the good of the people, as they watched him interact with colleagues from BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd.
Ebusapenyin Kojo Dankwa is a seasoned banker with advanced education both in Ghana and abroad, having studied at Mfantsipim School, Methodist University , and Swiss Business School in Zurich. He is one of five siblings and the son of Nana Amuakwa V of the Agona Duakwa Traditional Area, who also serves as the Krontihene of the Nyakrom Traditional Council. His mother, Mrs. Patience Araba Merese Nyame Duncan is from the Oyoko royal family.

There is a broad consensus within the Traditional Council that Ebusuapanyin Kojo Dankwa comes from a well-nurtured background and possesses the strong foundation required to meet the expectations of his new role.
