As Ghana and the world continues to fight the upsurge of the Coronavirus pandemic, EDAH Foundation has donated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu after it paid a courtesy call on the esteemed Imam at his residence at Old Fadama in Accra.

The Foundation also donated some of the PPE to residents of Kwashieman in the Ablekuma North Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.

The PPE worth several thousands of Ghana cedis were donated to the residents as part of efforts by the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Ghana’s Covid-19 case count of over 33,624 with 29,801 recoveries and 168 deaths, the founder of EDAH Foundation, Mr. Richard Debrah calls for a concerted efforts at tackling the spread of the virus. He contends that the seemingly disregard for Covid-19 safety protocols calls for urgent attention.

“It is a worry to me but not only me but the country at large because when we don’t observe the safety protocols our case count is going to be increased, he warned.

Mr. Debrah also indicated that his NGO will do its best possible in help augmenting government’s efforts at fighting the pandemic.

“It is widespread that most people are not adhering to the safety protocols and since we have stepped in, we are also doing more of education to the people in the society as well. We believe most People will now realize that it is urgent for them to wear the nose marks and use the hand sanitizers to stop the spread of the virus” he stressed.

EDAH Foundation is a Non-Government Organization which focuses on the education, health, social, economic and other major community challenges that entangles the Ghana, Africa and the world at large.

Some residents who were beneficiaries of the magnanimity of EDAH Foundation expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the foundation for the kind gesture.

Inusah, a resident of Kwashieman said “what the foundation has done today for us it very much appreciated and we hope other organizations will follow suits” he said.

Meanwhile a senior nurse at the Surgical Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Abubakar Hakeem Hamidu who lead the team on its Covid-19 education aspects told XYZONLINE that time has come for Ghanaians to fight the virus with all the seriousness it deserved.

Mr. Hakeem bemoaned what he calls the new normal which is gradually creeping into the lives of many with complete disregard for the Covid-19 safety protocols.

“Though you see people with veronica buckets and soap at the entrance of their shops, people who patronize these shops don’t use them. Corona virus is real and so if you are sitting somewhere and someone is making politics out of it, then you are digging your own grave. But the good news is we have good recovery cases and our death toll is minimal compared to other nations but we must all adhere to the safety protocols” he emphasized.

He called on all Ghanaians to stop stigmatizing persons who have recovered from the virus.
