The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with the activities of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, widely known as “Bolle Jos,” in Ghana.
In a press release dated 14 September 2026, the Commission stated that the suspects were arrested for allegedly representing and facilitating the operations of the wanted Dutch national within the country.
The arrests come in the wake of a recent seizure by French customs of a large cocaine shipment reported to be linked to a broader international network.
According to NACOC, the three individuals are currently in custody and are assisting investigators in examining their alleged roles in the trafficking activities.
The Commission used the development to restate its position that Ghana will not serve as a safe haven, transit point, or operational base for international drug-trafficking organisations. It pledged to continue collaborating with both domestic and international law-enforcement partners to target the people, finances, and infrastructure that sustain the illicit drug trade, while ensuring that the rights and legal protections of all persons under investigation are respected.

The announcement follows heightened public attention on narcotics-related incidents involving Ghana, including recent high-value seizures reported both locally and abroad. NACOC has not released the identities of the three suspects or further operational details at this stage.
