Honourable Edward Kaale Ewola Dery has officially filed his nomination to contest for the position of Upper West Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), pledging to promote unity, strengthen party structures, and improve grassroots mobilisation across the region.
In a statement announcing his decision to contest the position, Mr Dery described the filing of his nomination as the beginning of a journey anchored in service, dedication, and a shared vision of building a stronger and more organised party in the Upper West Region.
He said his decision to seek the position in the NDC was driven by a commitment to strengthening the party’s organisational structures, energising grassroots members and improving internal communication to enhance the party’s effectiveness.
Mr Dery also emphasised the need for a united front to help the party respond to the challenges and opportunities ahead, stressing that collective effort would be essential to achieving its goals in the region.
According to him, the campaign would not centre on individual ambition but on the collective interests of party members and the need to create an inclusive political environment where everyone has a voice.
He said his vision was to build a movement that listens to its members, encourages participation, and empowers individuals at every level of the party, from the branches to the regional leadership.
As the campaign gets underway, Mr Dery appealed to NDC members and supporters to offer their prayers, support, counsel, and confidence as he seeks to secure the position.
He further pledged to run a clean and issue-based campaign that reflects the values and principles of the party, highlighting his commitment to a contest focused on ideas and the collective advancement of the organisation.
Mr Dery said the submission of his nomination papers marked the transition from intention to action, with the campaign now set to begin.
“The filing is done. The work begins. The campaign begins,” he declared, signalling the start of his bid to become the next Upper West Regional Secretary.
