The Eastern South Regional Police Command has restored calm at the New Station Area in Akyem Oda following a violent machete fight involving a group of young men.
The disturbing incident, which was captured in a viral video circulating on social media, showed the individuals openly attacking each other with cutlasses, causing panic among residents in the area.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the police explained that officers quickly responded after receiving information about the clash. Upon arriving at the scene, the security personnel managed to bring the situation under control and began investigations into the incident.
According to the statement, two suspects involved in the confrontation were later found receiving medical treatment at different hospitals.
One of the suspects, 30-year-old George Okyere, was admitted at the emergency ward of the Oda Jubilee Hospital with a deep cut on his forehead and a severed right finger.
Another suspect, identified as Paul Pascalele, was also receiving treatment at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital after suffering a deep cut on his right hand.
Police also confirmed the arrest of a third suspect, Evans Adayele, who was reportedly hiding after the incident.
He is currently assisting with investigations while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining suspects connected to the violent clash.
