A video has gone viral which shows a police officer in a space with narcotic users where he is seen serving himself.
In the video, the officer was seen in uniform and being threatened by the one recording for being an informant. The said officer, Sergeant Isaac Sowah Nii denied the allegations.
The Police Service has stated that it ‘will give the officer the necessary pycho-social support in line with new strategic police welfare policy’, according to the Police.
However, the Ghana Police Service stated in the post that it has interdicted the said officer: ‘The Police Administration has interdicted No. 42681 G/Sgt Isaac Nii Sowah, stationed at the Accra Regional Command, was captured in uniform smoking a substance suspected to be a narcotic drug’.
The Service has said it will carry out further investigations and the officer ‘will be taken through the necessary discipline and legal action’.
