GOIL has donated two vehicles to the Ghana Prisons Service in Accra to assist in efficient service delivery.
The vehicles, a brand-new Massey Fergusson Tractor and a Toyota pick-up valued at GH¢700,000 were donated to the service following an appeal to GOIL to support its operations.
Making the presentation, Group CEO and Managing Director of GOIL, Kwame Osei Prempeh said GOIL explained the vehicles will assist in the day-to-day running of the organisation and to support its agricultural activities.
He acknowledged the Ghana Prisons Service as a functional productive institution contributing immensely to the security of the country and therefore worthy of GOIL’s support. He believed that the service can be boosted to become self- sufficient in food production.
The Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Isaac Kofi Egyir, who received the donation on behalf of the Service expressed gratitude to GOIL for extending a helping hand to augment its operations.
At the presentation ceremony were the Group Chief Finance Officer, Kwabena Adjei; Head of Administration and Human Resource, Martin Olu-Davies; Head of Corporate Affairs, Marcus Deo Dake -all of GOIL, and other top officials of the Ghana Prisons Service.
