The National Coordinator of Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), Hajia Safia Mohammed, has formally announced her resignation from post with immediate effect.
“Officially, I have resigned from my position as the National Coordinator for School Feeding with immediate effect” she announced on Facebook.
Madam Safia used the opportunity to thank the management and staff of the national Secretariat for the valuable experience and support provided her during her tenure of office.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank the entire team for the valuable experience and support provided during my time in office” she stated.
Hajia Safia Mohammed took over from the late Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah, who died in 2023.
The School Feeding Programme has been an instrumental pro poor intervention in Ghana, playing a critical role in ensuring that children receive proper nutrition while incentivizing their attendance and continued education. By providing meals to students, the program aims to alleviate hunger, enhance concentration, and boost academic performance.
With her new position, Hajia Safia Mohammed was mandated to introduce innovative strategies to further expand the reach and impact of the School Feeding Programme. By collaborating with stakeholders including schools, parents, and local communities, she aims to strengthen the program’s effectiveness in achieving its objective.
Meanwhile, Madam Safia served diligently during her period in office and undertook some good initiatives to enhance organizational performance with the dedicated management team and improved staff welfare.
