Sule Salifu, Director of Communication of the governing New Patriotic Party - Northern Region,

The Director of Communication of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the northern region, Sule Salifu, aspiring to be appointed the next Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tamale has promised to consult widely amongst all stakeholders in the metropolis to ensure the needed development is realized when he is appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo in the coming weeks.

He believes that broad consultation and stakeholder engagement are key strategies for development to thrive in the metropolis.
Therefore, he has reiterated the need to solicit the varied views and concerns of traders in the major markets in Tamale, traditional and religious leaders, political actors most particularly executives of the NPP and the youth during his administration.

“When you’re given the opportunity to serve and you always consult your people, then you will never fail. I have cordial relationship with most of the elders in Tamale, the Chiefs and Imams and I will work with these structures because they are there for guidance and I would always gladly call on them on any initiative and programs of the assembly” he stressed.

Mr. Sule Salifu confirmed his interest to contest the MCE portfolio to THE CUSTODIAN and said he will submit his curriculum vitae (CV) to the appointing authority when the opportunity arises.

Commenting on the prevailing challenges undermining development in the metropolis, the NPP former Regional Secretary stated in understanding the numerous problems affecting the area, assembly members as well as representatives of their communities would have to help the assembly identify these bottlenecks for the necessary interventions to be taken.

Internally Generated Fund

The NPP Communications Director said he will also take serious issues about the assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF) and maintained that through his method of engagement coupled with the existing revenue mobilization systems of the TaMA, the assembly would be able to hit substantially, its annual revenue target.

“We are practicing democracy and there must be consultations and collaborations, so, I will involve the assemble members, Chiefs and the party structures so that I can have a fair idea of what to do but it’s inappropriate to start making unrealistic promises that I will do this or that” he emphasized.
