Background
It would be recalled that few weeks ago, a joint operation of the Narcotics Control Commission and the Police impounded one thousand, one hundred and ninety-five (1,195) boxes of Tramadol Hydrochloride (120mg) popularly known as ‘Red’ af Nalerigu enroute to the Gbintiri community.
The restricted drugs were concealed in a truck travelling from Sankase in neighbouring Togo to the farming community for onward distribution to other districts in the northern region.
The Police also announced the arrest of six suspects in connection with the items.
The Police in the Northern and North East region have been on high alert in recent months to clamp down on the proliferation of illegal drug among the youth.
