The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have inaugurated its 2020 Campaign Team for the northern region to battle it out with the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region. The team is composed of a 35 top notch individuals of the party mandated to prosecute the campaign.
The NPP Regional Chairman, Mohammed Baantima Samba is appointed as the Chairman of the Campaign Team. All regional executives of the NPP are members as well.
The Northern Regional Minister and Deputy Minister, Hon Salifu Sa-eed and Hon John Bennam Jabba respectively are members and the Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Mariam Iddrisu representing all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region.
The Minister of Business Development, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal has been appointed as the leader of the Influential and Resourceful Persons of the party.
Other appointed bigwigs of the team are Defense Minister and MP for Bimbila, Dominic Nitiwul, former Northern Regional Minister, Prince Imoro Andani, Deputy Minister of Energy, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, CEO of National Petroleum Authority, Lawyer Hassan S. Tampuli and Deputy Majority Chief Whip and MP for Kpandai, Mathew Nyindam.
Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, Office of the President, Alhaji Mustapha Salam, Office of the Vice President, CEO of Ghana Buffer Stock, Alhaji Abdul Wahab Hanan, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama are among key members of the party appointed to lead the campaign.
The rest of the team are persons each in charge of New Media, I.T, representative of the party’s regional Legal Committee, Security Committee and the V-20 Coordinator for the campaign.
According to Chairman Baantima Samba, these individuals are carefully selected from various diverse political backgrounds and expertise to champion the 2020 campaign in the northern region. He said the task of the team is to work assiduously to achieve the Agenda Win 15 Seats in the region and retain President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP in power.
The New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress share the 18 constituencies in the northern region apiece.
