The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced guidelines for its parliamentary candidate selection process, with prospective aspirants expected to submit their expressions of interest between November 1 and November 10, 2026.
In a press briefing, the party’s General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, said interested persons must complete the prescribed online form through the party’s official portal, ppc.nppghana.org, within the stipulated period.
Prospective candidates are also required to pay an application fee of GH¢5,000 as part of the process.
According to the General Secretary, all applicants will undergo vetting and screening to determine their eligibility in line with the party’s requirements.
The party will further organise capacity-building workshops for prospective parliamentary candidates in December 2026. The workshops will be held across three designated zones: Northern, Middle and Southern.
Mr Kodua Frimpong stressed that incumbent Members of Parliament would not be exempt from the selection process, emphasising that all prospective candidates must comply with the established guidelines.
He also cautioned aspirants against commencing campaign activities following the opening of the expression-of-interest process.
The General Secretary explained that submitting an expression of interest does not amount to permission to campaign, adding that the party’s earlier directive suspending all campaign activities remains in force until official clearance is granted.
The NPP said the structured process is intended to promote fairness, transparency, discipline and equal opportunities for all prospective parliamentary candidates.
It urged all aspirants to strictly observe the directives as the party prepares to select its parliamentary candidates.
The announcement sets out the initial requirements and timetable for prospective candidates seeking to contest parliamentary seats on the NPP ticket, while reaffirming the party’s position that campaign activities must remain suspended until further notice.
