The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong has served notice that the party shall in the coming days embark on a series of actions to get the powers that-be to uphold the democratic rights of the people of the Ablekuma North constituency.
Mr. Kodua accused the John Mahama led National Democratic Congress government of frustrating the process to complete the collation of the outstanding three polling stations to declare winner of the parliamentary elections in the 2024 polls because they [NDC] knows they have lost the elections.
“National Council noted with concern the contemptuous conduct of the Ghana Police who are working under the instruction of the Minister for Interior and the Attorney General in failing and refusing to comply with the orders of the High Court to provide security to the Electoral Commission (EC) to complete the collation of the Ablekuma North parliamentary results” he said.
However, he indicated the EC has confirmed that there is no court process stopping them from completing the collation and to declare the results.
The NPP General Secretary insinuated that, “The only reason why His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and his NDC are not allowing the Police to provide security to the EC to complete the collation of the outstanding three (3) polling stations is because they know they have the lost the elections, and are only bent on using the Police to frustrate this exercise and deny the good people of Ablekuma North a parliamentary representation.
“Well, the NPP wishes to serve notice that we shall in the coming days be rolling out series of actions to get the powers that-be to uphold the democratic rights of the people of Ablekuma North” he emphasized.
