The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mr. Mohammed Abdul Salam, has announced that effective Saturday, August 1, 2026, all licensed Private Lotto Operators are expected to transition from paper-based operations to Point of Sale (POS) Terminals in line with their licensing agreements.
The announcement comes on the back of a strategic partnership signed between the National Lottery Authority and Fidelity Bank PLC, as part of the authority’s digitization drive.
”Yesterday, I was pleased to sign a strategic partnership between the National Lottery Authority and Fidelity Bank PLC, marking another important step in our drive to modernize the NLA” Abdul Salam disclosed.

According to him, this collaboration will improve the NLA’s operations through the deployment of modern POS terminals.
He added it will also enhance service delivery and position the Authority for greater efficiency and growth.
The Director General emphasized that, “As we move forward, I reaffirm our commitment to a fully digital lottery ecosystem.”
”Effective 1st August 2026, all licensed Private Lotto Operators are expected to transition from paper-based operations to POS terminals in line with their licensing agreements” he stated.
