Despite being abandoned for two decades, efforts to revive this vital institution have recently gained momentum.

Originally initiated during President Kufuor’s tenure, the construction of the hospital had stalled. Hence, ex-President John Dramani Mahama’s administration intervened to help construct and also the current President Nana Akufo-Addo has helped in this crucial project as well. In April 2024, work recommenced at the project site, with renewed dedication and focus towards completing the construction.

The importance of the International Police Hospital cannot be overstated, as it serves as a cornerstone for healthcare services in the region.
