The Chief Executive for the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, Hajia Mariam Iddrisu has handed over 13 brand new Apsonic Kombian motorbikes to the Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Baantima Mohammed Samba for onward distribution to the Tamale North and Sagnarigu constituencies.
Hajia Mariam in an interview confirmed to THE CUSTODIAN that, the gesture was her personal support towards the growth and success of the campaign of the governing party ahead of the December 7 general election.
The MCE noted that this contribution to the party is to ensure effective supervision of the ongoing Electoral Commission voter registration exercise and the subsequent campaign activities of the two constituencies in the Sagnarigu municipality.
“This is not my first time of supporting the party, I have been supporting the party since my assumption of office in 2017 to undertake several social activities on monthly basis” Hajia Mariam indicated.
Additional two motorbikes were also donated to the NPP Dankwa Ladies; a group Hajia Mariam is a member since its inception in 2009.
She promised to procure more motorbikes to cover all 23 electoral areas in the Tamale North and Sagnarigu constituencies.
Hajia Mariam advised the beneficiary areas to use the machines to serve the purpose for which they were procured.
She also presented coupons to facilitate the fueling of the motorbikes.
The Regional Chairman, Mohammed Baantima Samba commended the Sagnarigu MCE for the “marvelous gesture” and urged the two beneficiary constituencies to put them into good use.
He has therefore handed 7 and 6 motorbikes to the party’s Sagnarigu and Tamale parliamentary candidates, Madam Felicia Tetteh and Mr Alhassan Dahamani respectively.
