The Member of Parliament for Savelugu Constituency in the Northern Region on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, on Tuesday (May 20, 2025) begun phase two of her ‘Thank You’ tour to express gratitude to the constituents for the overwhelming endorsement she received in the 2024 general elections.
The MP a few weeks ago started the tour by paying courtesy calls on some traditional leaders in the constituency. The chiefs included the Paramount Chief of Savelugu, Yoo Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani, the Chief of Diare, and Chief of Pigu among others.
She also met with the NPP constituency campaign as well as the constituency executives to commend them for their hard work and dedication throughout the electioneering period.
Hajia Fatahiya on Tuesday, as part of the stakeholders’ engagement, paid a courtesy call on the Savelugu Municipal Chief Executive, Alhassan Fuseini, to congratulate him for his nomination by President John Dramani Mahama and subsequent confirmation by the assembly members and also interacted with the management and staff of the Municipal Assembly.

The duo discussed issues of mutual concern to advance the growth and development of the municipality where the Member of Parliament reiterated her commitment to improving the socioeconomic livelihood of the people particularly women and the youth.
The Legislator in an interview with THE CUSTODIAN said, “I had the honour of visiting our newly elected MCE, Hon. Alhassan Fuseini (Bagaman), to congratulate him and reaffirm our shared commitment to Savelugu’s growth. Unity is the foundation of development, and together, we will build a brighter future for our people” she stated.
Subsequently, Hajia Fatahiya met with NPP Constituency Council of Elders, various Youth Groups, and market women to listen to their concerns and developmental aspirations.

“To the market women whose strength sustains our local economy, and to the energetic youth whose passion gives Savelugu hope, I say, Thank you. Your support, encouragement, and prayers have been the backbone of this journey. This victory belongs not to one individual, but to all of us” she added.
Meanwhile, the MP was accompanied by the constituency executives led by the chairman, Alhaji Alhassan Shani (Japanese) and party faithful.
