For this year, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator has disbursed an amount of GHS300,000 under her educational support initiative.
Addressing the beneficiary students, parents and elders of Savelugu during the presentation ceremony on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Hon. Fatahiya noted the intervention reflects her commitment to assisting these students to break the financial barriers in order to pursue their educational ambitions.
“Today, I am delighted that we are continuing this initiative. This year, I am committing a total of GH¢300,000 to provide scholarship support to almost 200 tertiary students from the Savelugu Constituency.
“This substantial investment reflects my commitment to helping our young people overcome financial barriers and pursue their educational ambitions” she stated.

The MP further acknowledged the overwhelming financial burdens students and their families endure every academic year, adding behind every student struggling to pay fees is a family making sacrifices and a young person whose dreams deserve an opportunity to flourish.
“Through the Savelugu Educational Fund, we may not be able to address every challenge at once, but we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of deserving students.”
However, she encouraged the students benefiting this year to take their studies seriously and remain disciplined, attend their lectures, and always prepare diligently for their examinations and uphold the values of honesty, humility and hard work.
She admonished the teenagers not to allow present circumstances to determine their future, emphasizing: “Your background should never become a permanent barrier to your ambitions.”
“Remember that you are not studying for yourselves alone. Your families have invested in you, your communities are looking forward to your success, and Savelugu needs your knowledge, skills and talents” she stressed.
