In a shocking revelation, Cheddar’s alleged involvement in a tax evasion scandal has been brought to the forefront, exposing a complex network of financial secrecy and maneuvers.

The self-proclaimed savior of Ghana is now under scrutiny for potential entanglement in a tax evasion scandal, marked by the imposition of hefty fines since 2013.

Nana Kwame Bediako, alias Cheddar, faced penalties amounting to GHS 50,000.00 for failure to file personal income tax returns from 2013 to 2016, according to the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Despite settling a not-in-dispute sum of GHS 209,171.00 between 2018 and 2020, he failed again to file post-2020.

For the period spanning 2021 – 2022, GRA served him an estimated assessment of GHS2,088,228 and GHS5,096,536 and penalty forfailing to file his personal income tax returns respectively
Cheddar’s involvement in a tax evasion scandal not only raises questions about his financial practices but also casts a shadow on his proclaimed commitment to national development.

As an aspiring presidential candidate and self-proclaimed saviour of Ghana, his actions set a concerning precedent for the ethical standards expected from individuals in or seeking to be in influential positions.

The imposition of significant fines by the Ghana Revenue Authority highlights the potential magnitude of Cheddar’s tax evasion, emphasising the need for accountability and transparency, particularly among those who claim to champion the nation’s progress.
Perhaps, the unconventional nature of his income sources does not require the accountability and scrutiny that come with income tax declaration.

It is crucial to note that personal income tax serves as a vital source of information concerning an individual’s investment activity and asset holdings.

It can be instrumental in identifying potential unreported or questionable income, including transactions such as asset purchases.

The persistent failure to pay penalties instead of just declaring income raises broader questions about the sincerity and integrity of a figure aspiring to lead the nation.

It must be noted that this scandal is not just about an individual’s failure to pay taxes; it is about the societal impact of tax evasion and measuring the rhetoric of an aspiring president against his conduct.

Tax evasion diminishes the resources available for essential public services, infrastructure development, and poverty eradication measures.

These bizarre tax evasion allegations and their potential impact on the nation merit a prompt and transparent response from Cheddar, or his silence will be deafening.

Ghanaians deserve leaders who set high standards for ethical conduct, act with integrity, and prioritize the welfare of the nation over personal interests.

In the meantime, stop hiding behind justifications and settle your outstanding tax debt of over 7 million cedis.
